Padel Liga Bratislava - Leto 2026

2 registered teamsStarts 27 Jul 2026

Basic league rules

  • The league consists of a regular season and a playoff knockout stage.
  • The regular season consists of 7 rounds in total, with one week normally allotted to play each of them (unless a joker is used). The exception is the final, 7th round, for which teams have an extended two-week window.
  • The match schedule is published in the Schedule tab right on the league's page.
  • Matches are drawn using the Swiss system.
  • Every participating team advances to the playoff stage.
  • Teams are split into playoff tiers (Playoff A, Playoff B, etc.), primarily in groups of 8, based on their regular-season standing.
  • Teams have an extended window to play each playoff round, with 2 weeks allotted per round.
  • If the league's total number of teams isn't exactly divisible by eight (for example, 10 teams), the main Playoff A is filled with the top 8 teams. All remaining teams (2 teams in this example) then form a lower tier (Playoff B). This principle applies regardless of the number of teams, guaranteeing that every team gets playoff opponents after the regular season.
  • A team may withdraw from the league before round 1 is drawn and will receive a full refund of the entry fee. If a team withdraws after round 1 has been drawn, the right to a refund is forfeited. Such a team remains listed in the overall standings marked as withdrawn and will no longer be included in the draw for subsequent rounds.

Matches

  • All matches are played under the official rules of padel. You can read the full rules at this link.
  • Every match is played as best of two winning sets. If the sets are tied 1:1, the winner is decided by a super tiebreak (the first team to reach 10 points wins, provided they win by a margin of at least two points).
  • Matches are normally played in the league's designated city. Any change of location is possible only by mutual agreement of both teams.

Entering results

  • Results of played matches are recorded directly through the website.
  • The system automatically validates the result's format and logic when it's entered (for example, it checks that a super-tiebreak score is entered correctly).

Scoring

  • A team earns 3 points for a win without losing a set. If the match is decided by a super tiebreak (i.e. after losing one set), the winning team earns 2 points and the losing team earns 1 point. A team earns no points for a loss without winning a set.
  • If there's an odd number of teams in the current round, one drawn team receives a so-called bye, meaning an automatic win without playing a match (that team is credited the full 3 points). The system ensures that no team receives a bye in two consecutive rounds, as long as the schedule and number of participants allow it.
  • If teams are tied on points after their matches are played, their ranking is decided primarily by the difference between total sets won and lost. If the tie persists, the next tiebreaker is the difference between games (gems) won and lost.

Captains' agreement

  • Once a match is drawn, it's the captains' job to agree on its details. A captain can contact their opponent either through the integrated chat right on the website, or via WhatsApp. The contact details you need are available on the opposing team captain's profile.
  • If teams can't agree on a date within the current week, the match can be postponed. Such a match must be played no later than the draw date for the following round (for example, a round 1 match must be finished before the round 3 draw). A so-called joker must be used to push back the deadline (see the Jokers section for details).
  • The league organizer doesn't arrange or pay for court bookings. Securing a venue, booking a time slot, and splitting the rental cost is entirely up to the mutual agreement of both team captains.

No-shows and forfeits

  • If your opponent confirmed an agreed date and then failed to show up without an excuse, you have the right to claim a win by forfeit. This claim must always be submitted directly in the system, on the match card.
  • If your opponent doesn't respond while you're trying to agree on a date and is demonstrably inactive, you have the right to claim a win by forfeit.
  • Whether a forfeit is granted is decided by the system based on both sides' statements and activity; this claim can only be made using the dedicated buttons right on the match card.
  • If you disagree with the system's decision on a forfeit and consider it unfair, you can reach us by email at podpora@padelliga.sk.
  • A team that fails to show up for a match without a timely excuse (at least 12 hours in advance) is required to cover all costs incurred for the court rental. If the specific venue's cancellation policy requires cancelling the booking at least 24 hours in advance, that stricter deadline applies instead. The player who originally paid for the rental must keep proof of payment (booking confirmation, receipt, bank statement, etc.) in order to be able to demonstrate the cost.

Jokers

  • Number of jokers: each team has a total of 4 jokers available during the regular season.
  • A joker extends the deadline to play a specific match by exactly one week. Teams mainly use it when they can't align schedules and agree on a shared date within the current round.
  • Either of the two playing teams' captains can decide to use a joker. Using it is simple - just click the relevant button right in that match's detail (card).
  • Only one joker can be used on any given match, regardless of which team applied it. If the match deadline has already been extended this way, the other team can't use another joker on the same match.
  • Jokers are tied to the current regular season. They can't be carried over into future seasons, and likewise can't be restored or refunded once used up.
  • The number of jokers a team still has available is always clearly displayed on that league's page.
  • Jokers are intended exclusively for regular-season matches. They can't be used on matches in the playoff stage.
